Low or no calorie diets may show a few pounds of weight loss for the first few days, but after that all weight loss comes to a screeching halt, a process known as a dieting plateau. Your glycogen reserve begins running low while converting stored glycogen to glucose for secondary energy needs while you are in a fat burning state and eventually needs to be filled again to keep energy up. Remain in that glycogen depleted state for one more day and fat is being released and burned at and significant level. This is a key to any fat burning diet. To achieve this state, simply cut out all starches, alcohol, and sugars for three days. Eat your meals every three to four hours. Eat lean protein and fibrous carbs. On the fourth day, eat a small amount of starch. Then repeat this cycle: three days of no starch, one day with some starch. Do this fat burning diet for eight weeks and you will see a dramatic decrease in body fat.
